As an indispensable power equipment in the modern industrial field, the working principle of three-phase AC motor is based on the law of electromagnetic induction and the law of electromagnetic force, and is widely used in various mechanical transmission systems. This article will analyze the working principle of three-phase AC motor in detail.
The three-phase AC motor is mainly composed of two parts: stator and rotor. The stator is the stationary part of the motor, usually stacked with silicon steel sheets and embedded with three-phase windings. When three-phase AC current is passed into the stator winding, a rotating magnetic field is generated inside the stator. This rotating magnetic field is the key to the operation of the three-phase AC motor. Its speed is called synchronous speed, which is related to the power supply frequency and the number of motor poles.
The rotor is the rotating part of the motor, generally using a squirrel cage or winding structure. In the squirrel cage rotor, the bars and end rings form a closed loop. When the rotor is in the rotating magnetic field generated by the stator, the conductor cuts the magnetic lines of force to generate an induced current, which in turn forms an electromagnetic force, driving the rotor to rotate at a speed slightly lower than the synchronous speed. This speed difference is called slip, which is a necessary condition for the normal operation of the asynchronous motor.
The wound rotor is connected to an external resistor or rheostat through slip rings and brushes, which can adjust the resistance of the rotor circuit, thereby changing the torque and speed characteristics of the motor. This structure gives the wound rotor motor an advantage in starting and speed regulation performance.
The three-phase AC motor realizes the conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy through the relative movement between the rotating magnetic field generated by the stator winding and the rotor conductor. It has a simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, and high efficiency, so it is widely used in industry, agriculture, transportation and other fields.
With the continuous advancement of technology, the performance of three-phase AC motors will continue to be optimized, providing more powerful power support for the development of various industries.
